After spending a trimester at the University of the West of Scotland in Paisley (a town just a few miles away from Glasgow), a new experience unfolded itself in another town East Kilbride (just a little bit more far away from Glasgow than Paisley).

The train station in Hairmyres. |
I arrived back to Scotland by plane on the 9th of February 2011 and went straight to my new home in East Kilbride. The travel from International Airport Glasgow to EK wasn´t as smooth as I expected. Going by a bus, a train and then walking for 20 minutes from the train station is not a very pleasant experience after getting up at 2am in the morning and spending three hours waiting at the airport in Berlin. As a bonus, imagine carrying a bag with more than 10kilos on your back and pushing a 20kilo-heavy trolley behind you. And did I mention that I had to walk up a hill most of the time? :-)

My new flatmate :-) |
The ultimate travel was quite an exercise but after a few complications I finally arrived! My new temporary home is in a house with three floors and 5 or 6 flats. I live in a nice flat upstairs with a young couple and a black cat. The greatness of the flat and my new flatmates is beyond anyone´s imagination, I guess. :-)
I arrived quite late in the afternoon so there was just enough time to unpack and do a wee bit food shopping before I had to go to the large double bed and prepare mentally for the next day - the first internship day at Hello Scotland!
